Rd6 Motostar – Cadwell Park

JJ mountain

It’s always exciting to head to my favourite track on the calendar – Cadwell Park.

There’s no denying my confidence was high following my results at Thruxton and that my riding style has clicked with the KTM machine.

As we’ve already been to Cadwell for a test day – the bike set-up was ready to go from the off.
FP1 and FP2: – All went to plan and was on the race pace with my team-mate Archer #2 – FP1 I took P1 and in FP2 was P2 with Archer taking the top spot to finish off the faultless practice sessions.

Saturday Qualifying: The summer weather was threatening rain but held off with a warm cloudy morning for the Moto3 machines to set themselves up for the grid. It was a clear cut battle between us Team City Lifting boys as to who was taking pole – with the rest behind near on a 1 second behind. Result in me taking pole position only 0.335 seconds ahead of Archer.

Race1:  Unfortunately this race ended prematurely on lap 9 of 12 after a crash between 3 of the standard class riders. It was a close battle with my team mate as we switched positions throughout as I took the lead and started to pull the pin on lap 8 only marginally ahead as the red flag brought a close to the race! Taking my 3rd WIN of the season to date.

Race2: It was a carbon copy of race 1 at the front with Jake and I able to break from the following pack – with wheel to wheel action with Jake and I looking like we had merged into one bike! unfortunately once again the race finished under red flag conditions with 3 laps remaining – Jake took P1 and I was happy with the 2nd step on the podium – taking another healthy 45 points towards to championship and moving up to 3rd!

Massive thanks to RS Racing / TeamJJ / Team City Lifting and all supporters and sponsors #JJ55
